Ängra Wildlife & Fiskecamp

Apartment | Ängra is surrounded by many lakes of various sizes that are teaming with fish. With its 8 ha, the River Ängra is beautifully situated between the two lakes, Ängratörn and Laforssjön.

We have our very own private river, the River Ängra. In total, it is 20 km long, with 5 km of private fishing waters, which include trout, grayling, aborre and pike. In addition, the River Ljusnan, situated just 100 m from the camp, has large pike and perch. Lake Gommertjärn is 12 ha of fresh spring water, and in some places it is 30 feet deep. There is a natural stock of trout, but in autumn 2010 we added char, brown trout and some rainbow trout. We work closely with three fishing clubs in the area, and, together, we will ensure that you are in the right place at the right time. In the lakes around the camp there are some ‘put and take’ lakes, where rainbow trout and arctic char are available.

Last but not least: Mellanljusnan!
Sweden’s most beautiful forest river – some stretches we refer to as Mellanljusnan. A small eldorado for fly fishing, with a good stock of grayling and trout. Fishing for trout during the period from early May to early June is fantastic if the flow of water is on your side. In the Laforsen River, a good water flow is between 90 and 120 m3 per second Fishing for trout is best when the spring flows stop and start to retire, this will then give you approximately 10 days of fantastic trout fishing.

Fishing for grayling starts in mid June. The culmination comes the week before midsummer and continues for about three weeks. There is a small decline in July, but that is when the fishermen are put to the test! At the end of July and into August, fishermen find it easier to catch the bigger species of grayling.
